Pom Pom Factory was formed in 2010 by Karen Hsu. Located in Shoreditch, it’s now a bustling team of artists, designers and production superstars. Her studio specialises in hand crafted eco-friendly paper floral design services and products. She created our ‘How to Make Paper Peonies Guide’ in our downloadable Toolkit.

Karen was born in Hong Kong. After graduating at Central St Martins, she started experimenting with paper and created her first window display for The Mercantile store at Spitalfields Market back tin 2010.

The last 10 years have seen her work being picked up by a range of creative and commercial clients such as Selfridges, Soho House and Sketch. She has been featured in Vogue, 91 Magazine and the Makers of East London publications.

Made primarily from biodegradable recycled tissue and crepe paper, we’ve been working with our long-term supplier, Cartotecnica Rossi – an Italian company which was founded in 1878 – for nearly a decade. Apart from paper, they also experiment with real flowers and mixed media.
