In the idyllic location of Comrie Croft in Scotland, Cristy Gilbert and Judith McGowan have developed a thriving cut flower farm on 1.25 acres, part of a 5-acre market garden growing vegetables and soft fruits.
Supported by a team of local volunteers, Cristy and Judith keep the onsite tea house, restaurant and wedding venue decorated with flowers throughout the season. When the Tomnah’a event business came to an abrupt halt at the start of lockdown, sales of local bouquets, stems for florists and funeral flowers soared. Tomnah’a flowers are also being delivered to homes across Scotland as part of a grocery box delivery scheme, spreading the message of seasonal, local British cut flowers across the country.
