Day Five | 3 Designs by Carly Rogers

Combining her passion for flowers and fine art background, London based Carly Rogers’s eye for design goes beyond the traditional floral arrangement and tells a skilfully crafted story. And her three creations perfectly encapsulate the natural beauty of British flowers and foliage.

Showstopper Design | Floral Mound Installation

As if transported by magic, Carly’s floral mound installation brimming full of home-grown flowers nestles between traders’ stands in the Flower Market at New Covent Garden Market. It features salvia, euphorbia, alliums, cosmos, nigella, alchemilla mollis, queen anne’s lace, pennisetum and grasses.

Carly says: “The inspiration for my Showstopper Design was the market and British wild flowers. It’s the juxtaposition of bringing a slice of a meadow into the new building and also giving a glimpse of where the flowers come from. It’s a playful take. A window into how the flowers would be in their natural state.”

Technical Design | Oversized Shower Bouquet

Showcasing British foliage is Carly’s oversized shower bouquet. With a large proportion of the stems being wired, this natural design includes cotoneaster, copper beech and oak, complemented by floral elements, mock orange and trailing roses.

Signature Design | Floor-Based Wreath

Blooms in blue and purple hues, including salvia, nigella, cornflowers and phacelia, take centre stage in this detailed floor-based wreath.

Carly says: “I wanted to create an oversized garden wreath that appears to have literally grown out of itself and into something entirely natural and unrestrained.”
